Run time: 90 min. | USA
A detailed documentary of the ultimate hippie fantasy, TAYLOR CAMP examines what happened when freethinking radicals rejected their American values to start a community on a picturesque beach donated by artist/oceanographer Howard Taylor (brother of Elizabeth). The land was soon overrun by every hippie, surfer, seeker, and psychologically scarred Vietnam vet capable of making their way to Kauai, where they created a vegetarian, clothing-optional lifestyle in the era of flower power, marijuana, anti-war riots and the Age of Aquarius. Thirty years later, film footage shot at Taylor Camp, vivid black and white photographs, and interviews with the people who once made their homes there, create a living tribute to a forgotten group of dreamers who longed for more than their country had to offer.

As the producer I can hardly be counted on to give an unbiased review. Actually I don't even know what I did to get on this page and then I saw this spot was blank and felt compelled to write something. To those of you who have seen the film in Hawaii, please write a review and let me know what you experienced and how we might make the film better. I didn't give it 5 stars because I know it can be improved. Zachariah (below) sums up our goal--to put you right there again - 1975 in a treehouse on a beach in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We've tried to make an honest tribute to that fleeting in-between moment, a certain period of our lives on Kauai when we possessed little but youth.
